heartbeat in abdominal ultrasound?

I have my second u/s next week, as we thought I was 8 weeks last week and then baby measured only 5 weeks we got a second appointment for Tuesday.

The thing is that the midwife is doing only abdominal u/s and I don't know if I could expect to see a heartbeat at 6w3d. I know trasvaginal u/s shows the heartbeat as early but I am so excited to see it!

 You can imagine it was a bummer to realize I was not 8, but 5 weeks... even longer to clear the first trimester milestone!
