Low Progesterone

Hi girls!

 I am 6 weeks 5 days but have had brown spotting primarily when I wipe off and on since last Saturday.  I called the doctor and have had 2 blood tests this week.  The Hcg levels went from 20,525 to 31,000 in 48 hours (didn't double) and my Progesterone dropped from 9 to 7.5!  It was already low to begin with.  This is a natural pregnancy and my doctor prescribed 200 mg of prometrium today to be inserted vaginally daily.  Has anyone had experience with this in a prior pregnancy?  This is my first pregnancy.
