LO and I haven't been home since the middle of last month. Drove to GA to be with DH after his sub (USS Montpelier) hit a cruiser (USS San Jacinto). We live all of 3 miles from the coast, in Virginia Beach. Guess we chose a fantastic time to NOT be home. Called my apartment complex today to ask them to go check for damage, they were happy to report no damage to personal belongings, and the only issue they found were some ceiling water spots in LO's room, so they will be getting the contractor to fix the roofing for us, hopefully before we get home. I like that they did go check it out for us though, and they did it quickly. I called and less than 20 minutes later, they called back to say they had been over there. Hopefully other East Coast mommas are doing good, and hopefully all of y'all are as lucky we were on this (though I have already read one post that that was not the case, and out T&Ps go out to that family and hope they can get home soon to inspect things)
