Question! Period vs. implantation

October 2012 in 1st Trimester

I had to go off BC for health reasons. I had a normal period last month. This month I started bleeding Day 27, lightish brown. Today (Day 28) is super dark brown, thick, sticky. However, I've not bled more than a small spot on my pad, about 1 inch wide and 3 inches long. And I haven't had any bleeding for about 5 hours. I know that no one can know for sure, but does this sound like it's more likely to be the start of a period?
