Coughing/Choking Advice Please

LO keeps coughing at night and it sounds like he is choking. I jump up and burp him sometimes he spits up like crazy and other times nothing. We have him elevated, Dr does not seem concerned. The Dr. said if it does not get better to add cereal to his bottle. Huh? He does spit up during the day but he does not cough and gag like he does @ night.

I suspect that it is related to a cold we all have been fighting from our other foster son. Could it just be from that? I am trying to hold off on the cereal if possible.

Thoughts/Suggestions?
