Heartbeat

Hello, we had our first appoitment at 11 weeks and the dr could not hear the heartbeat. Dr. was not suprised or concerned and said this was normal this early and being I am overweight. I was a little nervous since this is my first pregnancy and was told I could not have kids. Anyone else have a similar story?
