Babywise?

A friend gave me the book babywise and said it is a must read for moms. I honestly have not thought about reading a book on babies; I have just been trying to follow my baby's cues or cries. My friend doesn't think my LO is on a good schedule because he still wakes up during the night. So, she thought I should read this book and called it a lifesaver. Has anyone else read this book or followed what it says? What do you all think?

I should note that my JA is a sweet, laid back baby that seems to go with the flow. He only cries when hungry, over tired or cold/hot. But, if the book is beneficial to him, I will definitely read it!
