Bleeding with IUD

I got Mirena a month ago and started bleeding few days after insertion. I thought at first it was my period but it never stopped! it would get lighter one day, heavier another for almost 4 weeks now! I called my OB and he said it is a common side effect for the first 3 months. I can't believe I am going to bleed for 3 months! Gross, can't have sex, worry about iron defficiency...

Any one else experiencing the bleeding with Mirena or am I the only "lucky"one?
