Anyone elses LO have NO routine?

I have tried and tried to get DS on somewhat of a routine/schedule with his eating and napping during the day but it never sticks. He eating is all over the place anywhere from 4-6 ounces anywhere between every 3-5 hours. He will nap anywhere between 30 minutes to 3 hours and there is no consisteny in when he naps. I don't want to wake him up to eat so I think that because his sleeping is all over the place everything else is. Anyone else in this boat? Do I need to try to change this at this point? I am home with DS 2-3 days a week and MIL watches him the other days so is hard to get this consistent all week.
