5 am and wide awake

My kid must hate sleeping. He loves getting up at 5 am and is always wide awake, squealing, cooing, smiling, and generally having a great time. Why can't he sleep til 7 or so? The sun isn't even up yet! Times like these I wish I drank coffee..
