Confused by ILs

My ILs are finally here to meet their Granddaughter and how they are acting is confusing the hell out of me. They get here and of course MIL wants to hold her, which I expected, but just for a short time then she handed her of to SFIL. He held her for a short time and then handed her back to me. Then they went to drive around town and go shopping. She's 3 months old and they've never met her and didn't really seem to want to spend much time. MIL said she'd never changed a little girl before and didn't plan on starting now. And SFIL started telling me that when she got older and was putting everything in her mouth that I just had to give her a 9v battery and it would stop that. These people are never being left alone with my baby.
