humidifier question

I live in a dry and cold climate. Is it okay to use a warm mist humidifier, or does it have to be cool mist for the baby. I'm worried the cool mist will feel cold in our room and make the heat go on stronger. I have a warm mist one and I like it a lot. DD is still sharing our room.

Is anyone using a humidifier with the baby already? Or do you wait for hte real winter to start.
