Gunk In LO's Ears

This is driving me crazy! I know we are not supposed to go in there to do some gunk removal, but her ears have so much in them! I am wondering if some of it is soap residue from her baths. Either way, I want it out! Lol. I know they make baby q-tips, has anyone tried these? Or do you have any recommendations? Or should I just leave them alone? HELP!!!!
