pinkeye?

Anyone LOs (or sibs) have pinkeye or had as a newborn?  DS scared the lights out of me this morning by refusing to open his eyes for the longest time.  When he did, his right eye is red, swollen, and gummy.  He's also sneezing with discharge.  Poor little fellow.   I just wondered if anyone had experience with pinkeye and if so, if you had to put drops in the eye. 

And omg do his toots stink.
