Higher calorie formula?

So my little guy is still not where he should be in terms of weight he is about a pound under. I am doing all I can to get him up bf'ing, pumping, and supplementing with formula. He has a weigh in in two days...do you think I should request a prescription, high calorie formula? Or is that just for preemies? He is just under 3 percent on the WHO growth chart.
