Constipation - Warning: TMI

I cannot believe I am posting this online, but I am absolutely, desperate.

Stop reading now if you don't want to hear the details of my constipation!

For the past week, my bowel movements have been small, hard, and round.  I haven't had a BM since Sunday and I have a large, impacted stool that I can't pass.  I have the urge to go, but the stool is too big and hard to go.

I've tried prune juice, milk of magnesia, and (at the doctor's okay) a stool softener.  My doctor said that these treatments might not help since the stool is already impacted in the rectum.  She said that if I don't pass it by tomorrow, I should go to Urgent Care to get it digitally removed.

I cannot bear the thought of someone sticking their fingers inside of me to remove  the stool.  My husband bought me surgical gloves so that I could try to do it myself, but I'm shuddering at the thought of it.

Has anyone had experience with this?  If so, please let me know any tips you have that might help!
