After BFP - no blood test?

August 2012 in 1st Trimester

So after my BFP this morning I called my doc and was scheduled for an 8 week appointment. I asked if I was going to have a blood test done sooner and they said no, that the HPT urine tests are accurate.

Has this happened with you?

Thanks ladies and sorry if this has been asked before, I didn't lurk too much because I wasn't expecting to get a BFP so soon.
