Announcement ideas

My MIL's birthday is at the end of the month and DH are planning on announcing our pregnancy to his family when we get together to celebrate. I normally wouldn't chose a birthday to make the announcement but I know my MIL and she will be happy we did. Plus, we don't all get together that often and they would suspect something if I tried to get everyone together for no particular reason. I'd like to find a cute way to announce it, preferable towards the end of the night with cake or presents so that the whole evening isn't about that and we get to celebrate her first. Any ideas??
