Are there any mamas out there who were fit before their pregnancy? I am 5 weeks and have been a runner for 10 years. I have always been able to run 5-6 miles easily on any given day, but today my muscles cramped up and fatigued at 2.5 miles. Does anybody have any tips (foods or cross-training activities) that could assist my recovery and endurance so that I can stay fit in my pregnancy?
Don't worry, I stop before I
overtire or strain myself, and I am taking in plenty of calories to
compensate for baby and my activity.
I did have a potassium deficiency
in my pregnancy with my daughter, and that landed me on bed rest. (It didn't hit until MUCH later in my pregnancy, and up to that point I continued to run 5k races) I have
been taking steps to avoid that situation, this time (plenty of bananas, figs, and avocados).
Thanks so much, in advance! (And it's nice to be back on the Bump!)
