hubby @ 1st u/s?

Hi ladies. I have to get the regular pre-natal bloodwork done in 2 days, but I also have a script from my dr to go get a pelvic, transvaginal, and fetal ultrasound in about a week and a half so I'll be around 7 plus weeks along then. Should I have my husband come along to this? I've heard you won't hear the heartbeat until week 10 or 12, but I've also heard some say that you can (or the dr can) hear it with a transvaginal u/s. Anyone know? And since it's just a radiology center and not my dr's office would it be odd for him to come back with me during the u/s? Thanks.
