CONFUSED....advice needed

I just went for my first ultrasound. Originally the dr. thought I was 9 weeks along, however, after the ultrasound, it was obvious that I am not, I more like 5-6 weeks pregnant. However, the dr sent me to go get my HCG levels tested today and Thursday to see if they are rising.

Is the Dr. just being cautious? I'm so confused by what just happened. She said that all the symptoms I'm having (nausea, exhaustion, sore breasts, hungry all the time) is a very good sign.

She said that she saw a heartbeat on the ultrasound but that I need to get my bloodwork done.

I'm scared and confused by what is going on.
