Am I being overly sensitive?

We've told our immediately families and closest friends about this pregnancy and so far everyone has been so excited for us and has only asked, in my opinion, appropriate questions.  My husband told his work friend and an actual friend last weekend and their first questions were "was it planned?" 

Maybe I'm being overly hormonal and sensitive but I think that is one of the most rude questions ever.  I feel like saying "that's none of your business" is harsh but I really just want to stare at them and give them a good heel of my hand to their forehead smack.  Who cares if it was or wasn't planned?  What would the follow up to that be and why do they feel compelled to ask?
