How bad is your back pain?

Because mine is killing me! My lower back and hips hurt when I switch positions or walk. The other day walking upstairs was miserable and so was the grocery store. I mentioned it to my dr and she said I could use a heating pad but it gets way too hot, even on low. I'm barely 11 weeks and can hardly stand the pain. I'm scared it's going to get worse. If you had the same thing, did it get better or worse over time? They told me they could give me a physical therapy referral but I hadn't wanted to do that yet, although I might have to soon. I feel like it's way too early to hurt this bad.
