Breastfeeding latch advice?

I posted this on the breastfeeding board, but I was hoping some BOTB ladies might have some advice, too.

I had a hard time getting my son to latch at all when he was first born. He has gotten a LOT better since then (he's almost 2 weeks old). However, it still takes us several attempts for him to latch on correctly at the beginning of east breastfeeding session. Is this normal at his age? Will it become more automatic for him as we go along? The start of each feeding is a little stressful as the first several attempts are just him mouthing my nipple and not latching. I worry that I am doing something wrong because he doesn't "get it" right away. Any words of wisdom? I'm unsure if I need to go see a LC or if this is just something that needs practice.
