Getting Sick .. advice

The onset of a cold is about to hit me, and I can deal with that no problem - but I get strep throat badly almost every year and it usually starts out this way. Should I wait until I know that is what is happening to get some medication, or try and deal with it now?

I have NO idea what is even safe for me to take for this ...and staying in bed to sleep is not a option with my job. I am 22 weeks
