Sharp Pain!!!

I have been experiencing sharp stabbing abdominal pain in the center of my belly.  It doesn't last long, maybe a few minutes, but it hurts.  The short, but strong pains have occured 3 times since yesterday.

I've been reading that it could be the abdominal muscles ripping to make room...

Anyone else experience this? 

I tried calling doctor but no answer and I don't want to do the on call thing in case it's nothing serious.

Thoughts?
