2nd Trimester

XP: Obscure question for moms who are still nursing

**even though I am on the fence btwn 1st and 2nd tri, I thought I might get more (if any) answers here, hope that is ok**

I got good results from the NT screening, but was just mailed the actual bloodwork numbers (for free beta HCG and PAPP-A) and noticed that while all is well with the trisomies risks, my free beta HCG was borderline low (0.4 MoM). My PAPP-A number was in the normal range.

I haven't talked to my OB yet (next appt. is at 16 weeks) but was wondering if this was perhaps due to the fact that I am still breastfeeding? I know it is generally safe to nurse while pregnant, but I also know that lactation affects hormones.

Just curious if your free beta HCG was on the low side if you had this test done, and if you would call your OB about this (rather than waiting for next appt. in 3 weeks)...

Thanks!
