Doctor every two weeks?

So I'm 26 weeks and my doctor said I have to schedule my lovely glucose test for week 28 and set up a regular appointment with her that same day and then we'll do an appointment every two weeks.  I knew month 9 you went every week, but I wasn't expecting every two weeks.  I don't have any complications (we are very blessed) so there isn't a specific reason for seeing her often, but I'm just wondering if this is common and you ladies are also doing the same thing....??
