bra size troubles

Before pregnancy, I had a comfy old bra that was a 36B (smallest setting). My ladies have definitely gotten bigger. I tried on 38D; it felt natural at the store (medium setting). When I got home I had red lines where the cups were. The next day, I tried my old one on again, and there were no marks.

 

Tomorrow, I will tried the larger new one on again with some adjustments to the straps and clip.

 

Does anyone have any tips for trying to find the right size? FYI, I am in week 18, and the only will probably get bigger.
