Clueless about infant/baby shoe sizing-please help!

I am a FTM, due on May 4th, in the process of building my registry and I would like to put a few pairs of shoes on there. I don't know anything about the sizing. At BRU the sizes seem to be newborn, then sizes 1-3. What is the average age for each of these sizes? I don't want to register for sandals that will be too big or small when the summer months hit, or duck boots that won't fit in the colder season for example. I know every baby varies, but my DH and I both have very tiny feet, so I'm expecting my LO to have small-average size feet. Sorry this isn't necessarily a pregnancy question, just didn't know what other board to post on! Thanks in advance for your help
