Ugh Reflux!!!

Does anyone know how often you can take Zantac for reflux?  I've been suffering the last week horribly and my doctor said to try Pepcid but it did nothing. I thought I took Zantac when I was pregnant with my doctor but can't remember.  I've been waiting to hear back from the nurse all day to make sure it's safe to to take and how often but I can't wait anymore!  I want to head to cvs right now!
