Midwife

I am very interested in finding a midwife and a birthing center for my delivery instead of the traditional hospital method but I am having a very difficult time finding a midwife. The only ones I can find are associated with an OB-GYN practice and I really see no difference between them and a OB-GYN - they only come to the delivery towards the end and they won't do a water birth. Does anyone have a recommendation on where to find a good midwife? We will be living in Columbus, OH.
