September 2011 in January 2012 Moms

This is going to be the first baby for both my husband and I, so i need some advice. I have begun to register but i am not sure if i should register at only one place or two places, what do most people do? We live in a very small town so everyone will have to shop online or go out of town to pick something up. Aslo is there anything that you consider a must have and should be on my list, or is there something that most people forget to ask for?
