What's your opinion on visitors?

My husband and I are having a huge disagreement about this topic. I don't mind if immediate family and close friends come over once the baby is home...as long as they are healthy (no illnesses) and willing to help a little. I know my family and know they won't stay long or inconvenience us. My husband, as advised by his meddling mother, does not want anyone over for two weeks. She told him that this was bonding time and having people over would interfere. She even stated that she wasnt going to visit for at least two weeks if not more. I tried to explain to him that people bringing over food and allowing us to sleep for 45 minutes is not interfering. What are your thoughts/opinions?
