Possible dumb question: What is the point of a crib set?

If you cannot use the quilt or the bumper for safety reason what is the point of the crib set? Doesn?t it make more since to just buy fitted sheets? I feel like I am missing something. Is there something else that they come with that I have no clue about?

I know it may be a dumb question but?..
