NBR: Ingrown Toenail Removal Q

I have had issues with ingrown nails on both my big toes for years. They usually come and go every few months. Right now both have an ingrown nail and my right big toe just hurts all. the. time.

J and my mom are both nagging me to get them looked at and hopefully removed, but i'm TERRIFIED. Honestly, the thought of giving birth scares me less than the thought of them sticking the numbing needles in my toes. Yeah... seriously....

So, anyone had experience with an ingrown removal and if so can you tell me a little about how it went from numbing to healing? I'd appreciate it. I'm really trying to talk myself in to it.
