Conversation between quasi-elderly landlord (incredibly kind and well meaning) who lives upstairs and A this morning while A was taking out the trash:Landlord: "I am happy to take the trash and recycling out for you guys."A: "Thanks, but we've got it."Landlord: "It's just that I noticed that BGG is taking out the recycling and my wife worries about her lifting things."A: "Well, I appreciate your concern, and I don't really disagree with you. If YOU want to tell her she shouldn't be doing it, I will stand behind you and have your back. But telling her she can't do something is not on my bucket list of life risks worth taking."Landlord: "Oh, I don't want to get involved then. We'll draw the line at shoveling this winter."A: "Agreed." On the one hand, there is absolutely no reason I can't lift the recycling bin, and if I were to need help I would certainly ask. But I thought it was sweet of them.
