Girl Name -- What do you think?

Ok we DH & I have not been able to agreed on a girls name for the life of us (or our baby lol)! We of course easily picked a boys name the night before our sonogram appointment! Go figure! But we started talking again and are thinking maybe the name Elinor. Which the only thing holding me back is that it is an "old name." But she would be known as Ellie.... BUT the reason we are picking it is because it was his grandmother's name. Who I only knew for 3 years but she was a SAINT... and THE most wonderful woman I have ever met. She meant a lot to her (DH's) family & even made a great impact on mine. She pasted away last Christmas... and her birthday is January 28th -- I'm due the 25th. We were for sure going to use it as a middle name but now it sounds like a front runner for a first name.

I just don't want the "history" & emotion behind the name to cloud my judgement... as to if its a good name. So as my "general public" what do you think??
