scary A/S... re water levels.

Went to our A/S today. It took longer than expected. Although baby is measuring 10oz and looks fine, After the appt the radiologist came in to tell me that since my ultrasound at 15 weeks my water level has dropped in half. I haven't had any leakage that I've noticed or anything like that. So we walked around the hospital and waited for a dr to call me, she said that they are sending me to a specialist and in the mean time I'm supposed to drown myself in water and basically drink till I feel sick and can't drink anymore. She's hoping that this will build my water supply before I see the specialist. I have no idea what to expect or whats going to happen. Any insight someone has who maybe has been in this position would be helpful. I'm wondering about things like: what happens, what do they do if there is anything they can do? etc etc. TIA ladies!
