We plan to purchase a Britax soon for our main family car - my car - because DS has just about outgrown the Chicco Keyfit 30.
Of course DH thinks the one that I want (even after lots of discounts) is very expensive - $265ish. But we technically need two carseats - one for my car, the family car, and then a second one for DH's 4-door truck.
DH is a SAHD, so when doing errands DS will ride in the truck. But our main car is our 4-Runner, which I take to work. When we do errands on the weekends, we take the 4Runner. However, I sometimes take the truck to work b/c it gets better gas mileage than the 4Runner, so there are times that DH will have the 4Runner.
I'm trying to decide if we should buy one main carseat and buy a less expensive one for the truck. But DS's safety is important, so I don't want to skrimp on money when safety is involved.
If you have 2 or more carseats in multiple cars, do you have the same one or different ones? Would you buy a cheaper car seat for a vehicle that doesn't get as much use as your main family car?
For example, I want the Britax Boulevard 70 for the 4Runner. But I can't decide if we should get the same one for DH's smaller spaced Tacoma or get a cheaper Britax (or Sunshine Kids, or something else???).
