Babies: 9 - 12 Months

XP: BFing moms - I can't lose last 10-15lbs. Any experience?

I also posted this on the BFing board.

I thought that with BFing that my pregnancy weight would melt off very quickly.  I was so wrong!  DS is almost 9 months old and I still have 15 lbs to lose until I'm at my pre-pregnancy weight.

I eat a fairly healthy, balanced diet (plain oatmeal for breakfast with strawberries or blueberries, maybe a decaf or small regular coffee from work, yogurt, mozarella sticks, apples with peanut butter, turkey or ham sandwiches, salads, chicken, green vegetables, bananas, pears, etc.). But of course we have the occasional fast food, pizza, or ice cream.  I do have a bad sweet tooth and I'm terrible for grabbing the cookies or ice cream.....but not in excess.

Finding time to work out is hard.  I'm trying to get back on that bandwagon again.

When you read about BFing, all you hear about is how you'll burn an extra 500 calories a day and that it will significantly help take off the baby weight.  Not in my case!

I googled to see if other BFing moms have had the same experience as me - the body not losing the last 10-15 lbs.  I surprisingly found in several message boards, that lots of mom's bodies don't lose the last 10-15 lbs until their LO has weaned from BFing.

Has anyone experienced this - not being able to shed the last 10-15 lbs until you're done with BFing?
