NBR: FB friends listed on profile

Anyone ever pay much attention to the list of friends on the left hand side of your profile?  Are they usually the same people?  FB contends it's generated by who you interact with publicly, but I'm curious if there's a link to who's profiles I'm viewing (stalking) or who's viewing (stalking) my profile. My list seems to be mostly the people I've viewed their pages, with most of the people repeating even after I refresh the page. 

Ever pay attention to this?  Just curious what your experience has been.
