Can't go swimming?

Last night my OB said not to go to the pool anymore -- since it's not a private pool The conversation came up because I take DS to his swimming classes every Saturday for the past 4 weeks - and have I think, 3-4 more weeks left.

He said with viruses and things that it's just too risky. I thought it was weird because I have always heard that swimming during pregnancy is recommended as great exercise.

I'm not sure if he meant since I'm still so early in my pregnancy - or if he means in general throughout my entire pregnancy.

Can someone else weigh in on this please? I won't go since he is telling me not to (I really love and trust my OB) but would like to hear some other opinions.
