Talk to me about betas!

Coming over from IF veteran board to see what others' experiences were with betas.  My 1st beta on Monday, 8dp5dt, was 119.  I went back today for the 2nd beta and it was 200.  So it didn't double within 48 hours but RE apparently isn't worried at all and is pleased with the rise (I voiced my concern to the nurse on the phone).   I've had 4 early pg losses so I'm well-versed in low betas and betas that don't rise properly.  I know that it can take 48-72 hours for it to double and my 2nd beta was only within 48 hours.  But still I worry!

 I don't go back in for another beta, although I could probably have one if I requested it.  But it's a 45 minute one way trip to RE and I have to fight rush hour traffic to get to work on time from RE's office.  And I have to pay $75 OOP after the 1st beta.  So I really don't think I'll do another beta.  I don't go back until next Fri. 6/24 for our 1st u/s.  What was your experience with betas?
