Hi folks -- I hope you don't mind my posting here with a question as I am very much hoping I get to join you soon. I'm doing my first (and, for financial reasons, probably only) IVF cycle with ER from between 6-10 follicles projected to be this Thursday. Since I am 39 (40 in August) and have a low AMH (.42), my RE is guessing that we will do a 3-day transfer and maybe even a 2-day one if needed, meaning that--assuming we are so lucky as to have viable embryos at all--we will have some decisions to make pretty quickly about the number of embryos to transfer (my RE doesn't really think we'll have any to freeze, though I guess she could always be wrong). I was originally thinking we would (if we could) transfer
no more than 3 with a 3-day transfer, but today my RE said something about 4 or even 5 (again, if we even have that many)! I am not opposed to selective reduction, but I very much don't want to end up in that boat; at the same time, of course I want the best chance at a pregnancy, period. And so I am wondering what those of you in a similar situation (age, AMH level) chose to (or had to) do. Again, I know all of this is completely individual and dependent on the number of embryos created and then embryo quality on any given day, but I'd rather get a head start on asking this question than asking it right when I'm desperate for the information in a few days. Many thanks!
