BF- weaning questions

I'm sure these are dumb questions but I don't have many friends who have bf and I haven't found much luck googling.  Per kellymom's weaning instructions, I have been slowly giving up nursing sessions for the past week and a half.  My last feeding was Saturday so yesterday was my first full day without nursing. I felt great yesterday--no engorgement or leakage.  Today I woke up to completely full achey breasts.  My body is telling me to either pump or feed LO to relieve the pain, but I don't want to send my body the wrong message about the need for milk.  Any suggetsions on what I should do?  Is this stage totally normal?

I should add that I've had mastitis 5 times so the last thing I want is another breast infection or clogged ducts.
