Carseat for free?

So, I have a colleague that had a baby last year. She offered give me her Graco Snug Ride. She used it for 6 months or so for her son and she is done having children and is getting rid of stuff.

My dilemma - I can be a snob and I don't know if I want a handed down carseat.

What do you think? Should I just suck it up since it is basically new and I would only need it for 6 months too?
