OK - a little history....I'm not close w/ my Dad (he left when I was a kid) and since going through IF, I've had to cut a lot of my family out of my life b/c they were toxic. I haven't spoken to my Dad in probably a year, and he doesn't respond to any of my e-mails about what is going on with me, etc.

So, my Dad posted this poem that he wrote as his FB status (...my name is Carolyn and I live in California....FYI....):

California Carol loves to go to the beach
and look out far at what is out of reach.
As the waves roll in she sits braiding her hair
and wonders if any meaning is there.
California Carol keeps looking to see
if what she feels is more than just the breeze.
So she listens to the screeching of the baby gulls

and wonders if motherhood is all that nature knows.

I don't even know what this means -- what is he trying to say? He doesn't even know me!
