2nd Beta - HCG rising slowly?!

I just spoke with the nurse from my RE's office and she said my second Beta isn't as high as they'd like to see.  They moved up my ultrasound to next week (week 6) and I asked if I could please come in again this week for more blood and they said OK.  She said it could potentially be a bad sign, but it could also still just be normal. HCG level was 762 today (when it should have been 888 or higher). The nurse told me not to freak out, but I'm fighting back tears as I'm trying to work... Has anyone here had a similar experience?
