So what's the deal with growth u/s and how do I get one?

Is it standard procedure to do an u/s towards the end of pregnancy to see how big LO is, even if you have had a complication free pregnancy?  I am very curious as to how big Max is, but no one has mentioned anymore u/s.

My mom said that with both my little brothers (born in the 80's) that the doc estimated their weight based on her measurements, not with an u/s, and he was right on, within a few ounces, with both of them.
